Becoming a
Counselor at Lead Week: "SURVIVOR" is Back in 2010
Age: 14 & Up + Passed Grade 9
Cost: $235
(10 of 50 spots will be reserved
for participants aged 14-15)
Focused on building on the strengths of our young people, participants will gain skills
vital to any leadership position. Emphasis will be given to the skills needed to excel at being a camp counselor.
Activities will focus on developing positive communication skills, building team unity, and enacting effective discipline.
The week is filled with adventure including awesome games both day and night, 48 hours on the Island, wall climbing, and much
more. Suitable participants will be asked to come back and put these skills to good use as an on-site counselor for
our summer camps.
(Please note: Member Camps of the Alberta Camping Association are required to have
counselors who are 16 or older AND possess current Standard First Aid and CPR. To uphold these
standards, all volunteer counselors must be 16 or over and provide proof of certification for Standard First Aid and CPR.
Those aged 14-15 years will be considered for Counselor-in-Training positions where they will be paired with a senior counselor
who is 16 or older.)
